Hurricanes trade veteran defenseman Wallin to Sharks

<div><p>RALEIGH, North Carolina (Reuters) - The Carolina Hurricanes traded defenseman Niclas Wallin to the San Jose Sharks Sunday, team president and general manager Jim Rutherford said in a statement.</p><p>The Hurricanes also gave their fifth-round pick in the 2010 NHL entry draft to San Jose in exchange for Buffalo's second-round pick in the 2010 draft.</p><p>Wallin had spent his entire career with Carolina and was third among defensemen in franchise history for regular season games played.</p><p>(Writing by Jahmal Corner in Los Angeles; Editing by Ian Ransom)</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=68665705&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
