<div id="subtitle">Lucas' shot with 3.5 seconds left gives No. 5 Michigan State 57-56 win over Michigan</div><div><p>Kalin Lucas made a go-ahead jumper with 3.5 seconds left, lifting No. 5 Michigan State to a 57-56 win over Michigan on Tuesday night.</p><p>DeShawn Sims had shot roll off the rim on an alley-oop pass with 0.9 seconds left for the Wolverines.</p><p>The Spartans (18-3, 8-0 Big Ten) have won their first eight conference games for the first time in school history and have beaten their rival for 17th time in 20 meetings.</p><p>Michigan (10-10, 3-5) has lost three straight games for the second time this season and have to end the season with a remarkable run to earn a second straight at-large bid to the NCAA tournament after starting the season ranked 15th.</p><p>Sims scored 19 and Manny Harris, who didn't start after serving a one-game suspension, had 16 points.</p><p>Raymar Morgan had 20 points, Lucas scored 12 while Durrell Summers and Draymond Green each had 10.</p><p>Harris made a go-ahead layup with 3 minutes left, then had a steal and assist to put the Wolverines up by three points, but they shot airballs on their next two possessions.</p><p>Morgan scored inside off an assist from Green, who grabbed an offensive rebound, and Lucas followed with his game-winning shot from the right wing after Sims shot an airball.</p><p>Harris was on the bench for the first 3:12 of the game after serving a one-game suspension for an undisclosed incident in Friday's practice.</p><p>He didn't score early on in the game, but finished strong to give Michigan a chance to upset the Spartans.</p><p>Michigan led by as much as seven in the first half and was ahead 27-25 at halftime.</p><p>The Spartans went on an 8-0 run to go up 42-37 early in the second half after a handful of lead changes, but the Wolverines refused to concede.</p><p>Both teams took turns with the lead again late in the game and it looked like the Wolverines were going to get a second signature win — to go along with one over then-No. 15 Connecticut — but they couldn't make the shots or stops they needed in the last couple of minutes.</p><p>Michigan made just 33 percent of its shots, but scored 23 points off Michigan State's 18 turnovers.</p><p>The Spartans almost made half of their shots and outrebounded the Wolverines 41-25.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=67862535&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
