Wrestler Kumar gives India first world medal in 42 years

<div><p>CHENNAI, India (Reuters) - Ramesh Kumar has won India's first world championship men's wrestling medal in 42 years.</p><p>Kumar bagged a bronze in the 74kg freestyle category in Denmark to become the first Indian male world medalist since Vishambhar Singh's silver in 1967, the Wrestling Federation of India said in a statement on Thursday.</p><p>Kumar defeated Alexandr Burca of Moldova in the repechage round to secure bronze.</p><p>(Reporting by Sanjay Rajan; Editing by Editing by Ed Osmond)</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=59636609&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
